I started weight training for the first time last winter before football season and now I am starting to lift again (seasons over) and now suddenly I am getting bright red stretch marks near my biceps and on my inner thighs and on my side near my waist … I am 15 and really big (6'4" 235 lbs and still getting taller) will the marks keep getting bigger or will I just get more?
Its normal !
I have had relationships with two body builders and used to train mself in one of englands most renound body building gyms, trust me they all get it and all ask that question !
Depending on your skin colour they are sometimes purple or darker than your skin colour. They can get bigger , but not to worry because they wont always look like that, ive had them myself from pregnancy and there are products that can prevent and reduce them.
Myself and both my partners used 'Palmers, Stretch mark cream' which you can purchase in most superdrugs and boots and most chemists for about £6.00 for a big bottle.
It will prevent them from appearing and change the colour of them, you cannot even see mine now!
When your skin starts itching it means its stretching and drying out which causes the mark. I followed a routine by using the cream each time I bathed and before training you should rehydrate the skin by using it then.
The colour will fade after about a week of use!
I hope this information is of some use to you as it worked for me and everyone I have advised of it !
